Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be requested in the following ways:

• By ticking the items required on the right hand side of your repeat prescription form and placing it in the box at reception. Your prescription can be sent to you by post (please provide a stamped addressed envelope).
• Order online via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple registration.

Medication Reviews

All repeat prescriptions are reviewed every six months, through a a full review by doctor or practice pharmacist and/ or consultation with the doctor or the practice pharmacist.  You will be informed by the practice when your review is due – It is very important that you attend.

Please allow 48 hours (2 working day) for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Prescription (per item): £9.65
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
• 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.

Please not we do not take orders for repeats prescriptions over the phone.

You can order your repeat medication online or by handing in a repeat counterfoil.

If you have nominated a pharmacy we are also able to send your prescription through ETP electronically to your nominated chemist.

Please note chemists are not able to order repeat medication on behalf of patients in Bradford  NHS and exceptions are only made for vulnerable or elderly patients.
